Are you thinking about grilling tonight?

Grilling is a passion many households share, which is why about 75% of Americans own a grill. Arguably, one of the tastiest things to cook on the grill is chicken breast. However, if you overcook the meat or fail to marinade it properly, it’ll wind up being dry and tasteless.

Luckily for you, we’ve created this article, all about how to grill the perfect chicken breast. So take a look! By the time you’re done reading this article, you’ll finally know how to grill chicken the right way.

A Grill Master's Guide on How to Grill the Perfect Chicken Breast 1

Prepare the Grill

The very first thing you’ll need to do is prepare your grilling station. Take your time as you clean the grill grates; once the grates are clean, you’ll want to oil them. Next, put soak a paper towel in cooking oil, use your grill tongs, brush the oil onto the grates.

Using a New Grill

There’s a lot of variety in grill models, such as Weber Spirit vs. Genesis. Before you turn on the grill, take a moment to familiarize yourself with all of the advanced features your grill may offer.

How to Grill the Perfect Chicken Breast With Lemon

One of the best parts about learning how to grill the perfect chicken breast is deciding on the type of flavor you want. Here are the ingredients you’ll need to make lemon chicken:

  • 5 chicken breasts
  • ⅓ cup balsamic vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon pepper seasoning

We suggest you use skinless, boneless chicken breasts for the grilled chicken breast recipe above, weighing about 6 oz apiece.

Prepare the Chicken

The next step in learning how to grill chicken involves preparing the meat. For instance, it’s always a good idea to tenderize the chicken a little bit.

Put the chicken on a large piece of parchment paper, and then cover the chicken with another piece of parchment paper. Finally, take a rolling pin and hit the thickest part of the chicken 3-5 times. If you don’t have a rolling pin, you can use a meat mallet.

Marinate the Meat

After tenderizing the meat, you can put the marinade and chicken breasts in a Ziploc bag. Gently shake the bag around until the breasts are fully coated in the marinade, and then placed in the fridge. You can marinate the chicken anywhere from 30 minutes or keep it in the fridge overnight.

Get to Grilling

Fire up the grill, and set it on medium. Typically, each side of the chicken will take about 6-8 minutes to cook fully. Once the chicken reaches a temperature of 165 degrees, you’ll know it’s done.

Share Your Grilled Chicken Breast With Friends

Dinner’s served! Now that you know how to grill the perfect chicken breast, it’s time to put your knowledge to use! So go ahead and invite a few friends over for dinner tonight, and prepare to serve them a meal they won’t forget.
